It really bothers me when people make assumptions about the sexuality of certain fictional characters.
For instance, used to be that every time someone trolled the Supernatural slash communities on LJ, whining about Dean being “obviously straight,” I would be overcome with the urge to flip tables and punch babies. It was a dark time in my life, I admit. Good thing babies don’t have many teeth.
That comment from DevArt I just posted? Was about Fenris and Anders from Dragon Age 2. That the two of them are “obviously straight” and anyone who ships them is deluding themselves. That we obviously need to take off our shipper glasses—because “yaoi girls can see yaoi in everything” (another lovely quote from the same pic)—and realize that our ship has sunk without even making it to the docks.
I honestly can’t even understand how someone could come to this conclusion. Anyone who has played this game knows how ridiculous this arguement is, because the male main character can sleep with both Fenris and Anders. They can become a couple, in fact (not all three of them together, mind you, but that WOULD be interesting, wouldn’t it). This is not a case of fangirls/fanboys seeing what isn’t there (and even if it were, why the fuck do you care, anyway).
This is a case of you, DevArt comment poster, being very fucking incorrect, and for the sake of babies everywhere, I wish you would refrain from posting your ignorance where I can see it.
